Once again we have to say thank you to complimentary therapists Adriana, Carmel and Sandra, who volunteered their services free of charge to raise money for St Laurence Cowley.
The second in an ongoing series of therapy days was held in the old doctor’s surgery at St Laurence’s Church Hall on 18th June.
In return for the donation of a tenner for a 25 minute session the therapists offered a range of treatments, including Japanese Facial Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Swedish Holistic Massage.
Some of those who went along to the Church Hall had previous experience of complimentary therapy, but for others it was the first time.
I think the therapy days have given people like me, who might not otherwise think about booking a massage, a chance to learn about this relaxing craft.
I had an Indian Head Massage yesterday and a Japanese Facial Massage on the first complimentary therapy day, which was held in May.
The Japanese Facial focused on the shoulders, the back of the head and the face. I was fully clothed and received treatment while laying flat on a table.
I sat fully clothed in a special chair for the Indian Head Massage, which was carried out on my head, shoulders and upper back.
There will be another complimentary therapy day later on this summer. Watch this blog for more information.
